8 oz pasta penne, spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice
4 cloves garlic minced
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Before draining, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
Step 2: Sauté the Garlic
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant.
Step 3: Make the Sauce
- Pour in ½ cup of the reserved pasta water and stir.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until melted and smooth.

- If needed, add more reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
