Description

Crockpot French Toast Casserole is a comforting slow cooker breakfast made with brioche bread, eggs, whole milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, brown sugar, and butter, creating a rich, soft, and warmly spiced dish perfect for relaxed mornings.

Ingredients

16 ounces loaf sliced brioche bread cut into 1-2” cubes (day old works best!)

6 eggs beaten

 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

 teaspoons ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

pinch of salt

½ cup light brown sugar

¼ cup unsalted butter cut into cubes

Instructions

Add cubed bread to the bottom of a greased 5 quart or larger slow cooker insert.16 ounces loaf sliced brioche bread

Mix together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Pour over the bread and press bread down to submerge into liquid.6 eggs,2¼ cups whole milk,1 teaspoon vanilla extract,1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon,¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, pinch of salt

Cover and place the slow cooker insert into the refrigerator to chill for 1 hour to allow the bread to soak up the juices. You can also leave it covered overnight.*

Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly across the top of the bread and dot with the butter cubes across the top.½ cup light brown sugar,¼ cup unsalted butter

Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 1-2 hours, or low for 2-4 hours, until the bread egg mixture is fully cooked.

Serve immediately with maple syrup, fruit compote or powdered sugar, enjoy!
