Description
Ground Beef Stuffed Peppers are a comforting dish made with tender bell peppers filled with seasoned ground beef, rice, tomato sauce, and melted cheese. Baked to perfection, this flavorful meal combines rich textures and homestyle taste in every bite.
Ingredients
4 large bell peppers (any color)
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 cup cooked rice
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove seeds and membranes. Set aside.
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Cook until browned.
Stir in tomato sauce, cooked rice, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Spoon the beef mixture into each bell pepper. Place in a baking dish.
Top each pepper with shredded cheese.
Add a bit of water to the bottom of the dish and cover with foil.
Bake for 30-35 minutes. Uncover for the last 10 minutes to melt and brown the cheese.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving, if desired.
