Description
One Pan Chicken Cheddar Pasta is a creamy, comforting dinner made with tender chicken, pasta, cheddar cheese, heavy cream, onions, and chicken broth. Everything cooks in a single skillet, creating a rich, cheesy sauce and a satisfying meal with minimal cleanup.
Ingredients
• ½ onion, diced
• 1½ lbs chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
• Seasoning of choice (e.g., rotisserie or steakhouse blend)
• 3 tbsp cornstarch
• 1 carton (about 4 cups) low-sodium chicken broth
• 1 lb pasta
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 1–2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
1. Sauté the onion
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened and slightly translucent. Remove and set aside.
2. Cook the chicken
Season the chicken as desired, then coat with cornstarch. Add to the same skillet and cook over medium-high heat for about 3 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
3. Cook the pasta
Pour chicken broth into the skillet and bring to a boil. Add the pasta and cook on high heat, stirring occasionally, until tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
4. Make the sauce
Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Add 1 cup of cheddar cheese and mix until melted, then add the remaining cheese and stir until smooth.
5. Combine everything
Return the chicken and onions to the skillet. Toss everything together until evenly coated in the creamy sauce.
6. Serve
Serve hot and enjoy.
