Description

One Pot Ground Beef and Orzo is a comforting, easy-to-make meal featuring savory ground beef, tender orzo pasta, diced tomatoes, onions, garlic, and Italian herbs, all cooked together in a single pot for a flavorful, hearty weeknight dinner with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 pound lean ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup uncooked orzo pasta

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

1 1/2 cups beef broth

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

Sauté the Ground Beef: In a large pot or deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks, until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

Add Aromatics: Stir in diced onion and garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes, until softened and fragrant.

Stir in Orzo and Liquids: Add uncooked orzo, diced tomatoes (with juice), beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir everything well to combine.

Simmer: Bring to a gentle boil, reduce heat to low, and cover. Cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.

Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Garnish with Parmesan and fresh parsley if desired before serving.
