Description

Indulge in Salted Caramel Apple Bars, featuring a tender buttery crust, juicy chopped apples, rich caramel drizzle, and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt for the perfect balance of sweet and salty in every bite.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups chopped apples (about 2 medium apples)

½ cup caramel sauce

½ teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Press half of the dough into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.

Spread the chopped apples evenly over the crust.

Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apples.

Sprinkle the flaky sea salt over the caramel.

Crumble the remaining dough over the top.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and the caramel is bubbly.

Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
