Ingredients
For the Bread Dough:
- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1/2 cup pureed fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
For the Add-ins:
- 1/2 cup fresh diced strawberries
- 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
For the Topping:
- 2 tablespoons flour for dusting
- Additional white chocolate chips for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine sourdough starter, pureed strawberries, warm water, bread flour, sugar, and salt. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and add the diced strawberries and white chocolate chips. Fold the dough over the add-ins and shape into a round loaf.
Place the loaf on the prepared baking sheet, dust with flour, and garnish with additional white chocolate chips.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
