Description

Buffalo Chicken And Smoked Sausage Penne is a creamy, flavorful pasta dish made with tender chicken, smoky sausage, penne pasta, buffalo wing sauce, heavy cream, cheddar cheese, Parmesan, and cream cheese, creating a rich and satisfying one-pan meal.

Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

12 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds

1 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

1 small onion, diced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp buffalo seasoning or Cajun seasoning

½ tsp smoked paprika

Salt and black pepper, to taste

12 oz penne pasta

3 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup buffalo wing sauce

2 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 oz cream cheese

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large deep skillet. Season the chicken with buffalo seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, then cook for 4 minutes.
  2. Add the sausage and cook until both the chicken and sausage are lightly browned.
  3. Stir in the butter, onion, and garlic. Cook until the onion softens and the garlic becomes fragrant.
  4. Add the penne, chicken broth, heavy cream, and buffalo sauce. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
  5.  Cover and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.
  6. Stir in the cream cheese until completely melted.
  7. Add the Parmesan and 1½ cups of cheddar cheese, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar over the top, cover, and let it melt into the pasta.
  9. Remove from the heat and let the pasta rest for a few minutes to thicken.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
